Jeremy Nicholls is the chief executive of the The Social Return on Investment (SROI) Network, a membership organization for individuals, organizations and companies supporting principles and standards in accounting for social and environmental value. In this role he advises public, private and voluntary sector organizations on how they can increase the value created by their work.
Nicholls is chair of the board of trustees of FairPensions and is a trustee of FRC Group, a social business based in Liverpool, England, and of the Social Impact Analysts Association. He is also a board member of Social E-valuator, an online platform for the analysis of social returns, and a member of Impact Reporting and Investment Standards’ Strategy and Adoption Committee.
Nicholls lectures at several universities, including the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, Hult International Business School and the University of Western Australia. He has written There’s No Business Like Social Business: How to Be Socially Enterprising with Liam Black and More For Your Money: A Guide to Procuring From Social Enterprises with Justin Sachs. He has also worked with others to write a number of SROI guides, most recently the United Kingdom government–supported “Guide to SROI.”
